Trouble at Telecom

February 24, 2009

Trouble is brewing at Telecom Fiji today with an emergency board meeting called by union man Felix Anthony and Chairman of the Telecom board. Expect to see the CEO Tabaleka out by the end of the day. Anthony is running scared after Tabaleka refused to follow orders which would have seen Telecom go under and the loss of hundreds of jobs.Telecom staff will strike later today if Tabaleka is removed from the board and the shady Sri lankan finance man given the job.

Folks watch this corner as more is coming

This seems one of those times where I should re-post yet again , replies to my comments made mid 2007 , they just seem to confirm the I.G.’s plan or those behind this coup . Notice how they say Frank and Co. haven’t got a bloody clue !

It matters not what anyone thinks , this regime decided years ago just exactly what it had in mind and how it would achieve it’s goals . Anyone who believes otherwise , is deluding themselves ! The processes this regime have put into place , are merely a smokescreen to hide their real intent . And one can only assume that that is total dominance over all facets of fijian society . Hasn’t anyone in Fiji understood yet , that Fiji is being sold out to the asians from under your feet , by your own countrymen ?

These silly Fijians do not know- ha!ha!ha!ha!ha! We are controlling their Military now. We will do it slowly until we destroy all the Fijian Institutions and the their land rights. The silly Fijians including the selfish Ganilau and Bai do not know and do not bother. GENOCIDE is the MISSION. It can achieved politically.

hahahaha…yeah lets start with crashing the South Pacific Exchange dominated by India and the banks! Maybe the Fijians can start thinking about the 6 billion deal now…hehehehe Take your pick!
Fijians are lousy merchants anyway because their eyes have always been to big for their stomach(traditionally) thus the need to have a corporate body(GCC new look) to curb the crooks that take advantage of the Natadola projects etc. I say Code of conduct is necessary because no chief should be above the law neither are accountants!

Vinaka SWM for the insight. Your sources are as good as Raw Fiji News. Felix Anthony, like his real boss the malodorous Chodokant, is no Union man. He’s just interested in his own headlines and anything that massages his ego.

Why would he care if Telecom Fiji fell into foreign hands? What does he care if every worker at Telecom lost their livelihood? Why should he when Chodo so clearly doesn’t give a f**k about the livelihoods of the Sugar Community?

    GO FOR IT, TELECOM!!

Be the first Fiji organisation to go on strike!! If Felicity won’t support you going on strike, then exercise your right as a Union and hold a vote to appoint another FTUC rep who WILL support your strike! If you can’t find one, give yourselves the option to join FICTU and find one there!

It’s really time to MARCH, STRIKE and PROTEST, people.

Enuf Dictatorship is right, and has been right all along. We’ve got to take the decision into our own hands.

    God bless Fiji

Telecom has some really great professional guys at the helm. If Sakeasi Seru, Marika Vada etc all support Taito and the workers get behind them they could cripple this country.

They also have very strong histrical ties with the Post Fiji crowd. If these two unions get together, walk out and shut down communications in Fiji, the regime will have to sit up and take notice.

Felix Anthony and Daniel Urai need to be run out of town.

Who says Mahen has lost influence, these two are his henchmen and they are determined to destroy this country.

Even before this though there were signs that all is not well, and you just can’t appoint anybody to boards or executive positions without there being some kind of commercial consequence.

So just as FNPF wandered into some tricky dilemma’s and difficulties under Felix/Urai/Waqa, so we are also seeing danger signs fro some time now at Telecom.

And although there are still some decent execs and managers left, many of the top technical guys have already left the place. As a result, Telecom is experiencing a raft of complaints relating to quite basic comms problems, particularly in respect of their money-spinning leased line accounts.

This is one of the areas providing impetus to Felix’s desperation to find a new direction under new leadership. But it will just be “out of frying pan and into the fire” by the sound of this SL guy. And that’s even if there are no industrial relations consequences as it looks like there will be…

This is also the problem with Felix wanting to run with the foxes and hunt with the hounds in the board. He realizes that he has to draw a line somewhere on union claims (like he did at FNPF with their wage claims), but he doesn’t have the business acumen to make up for that in commercial terms.

And so we end up with situations like the debacle at Natadola where he claims that they saved $100 million on the project, while actually ending up busting his budget by $50 million.

@ Mark: It’ll be known as Chinji. There are highly paid junta consultants working on a new name as we speak. And just think – there’s another opportunity for the so called guardians of Fiji (them that knows best) to rebrand and purchase another load of uniforms (direct from the sweat shops of China and India)
