Charter the answer to Coup culture: Fiji PM – you idoit says SWM!

February 8, 2009
Bloggers, well the pig carries on. SWM maintains the coup culture will never be eradicated until all perpetrators are brought to justice! Samoa has thrown down the gauntlet Vore. Be a man, attend the Leaders meeting and stop being a coward. Stop sending ‘insignificants’ like Aiyarse. If you can’t face your contemporaries, why continue claiming you are Fiji’s leader? Tamata macawa!

Bainimarama says the military will never be subdued in ensuring that justice is served to the people of Fiji. Taken from / By: Google

The Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama says despite suggestions and solutions which may come from forum states, Fiji will never be rid of the coup culture until the People’s Charter is adhered to.

Speaking to FBCL News, Bainimarama says come what may, the military will never be subdued in ensuring that justice is served to the Fiji People.

Bainimarama also says that forum countries like Samoa had no right to dictate what terms the Fiji government should work from.

The Samoa Prime Minister Sailele Malielegaoi Tuilaepa had condemned the military saying Fiji will only have peace if it rids itself of the military.

The ultimate guarantee of the rule of law, democracy and human rights is not the Constitution nor the nation’s Justice System but a commitment by every citizen of Fiji to safeguard and enhance it.

The Constitution and the Justice System provides the sturcture and the means for enforcement to uphold it. Therefore it is up to the people to provide the commitment to protect and enhance these principles.

This has to be the line that no one crosses because everytime there is a coup the perpetrators with the help of the military think it is their right to over-step the line.

‘The military will never be subdued in ensuring that justice is served to the Fiji people.’
If you have a skewed understanding of ‘justice’ (like Vore’s or Chodo’s), then that statement can be used to justify torture.
    Imagine Vore’s twisted logic –
“Sefanaia says my government is bad
Anyone who says my government is bad must be punished
    Therefore Sefanaia’s punishment is justice”
What Vore and Chodo continue to fail to realise is that the military will survive long enough to deliver free and fair elections and then our newly democratically elected govt (assuming that Chodo fails to rig the voting, unlike his cousins in India) will turn the military out on its big, bloated, collective, khaki-coloured arse.
His arse will end up in prison, exile or executed (I know which one I prefer).
    God bless Fiji

    Hear, hear AK.

And that is the logic and understanding that divides US, the MENTALLY STABLE/OPEN-MINDED people who hold the ideals and values of democracy dear to us (never mind its shortcomings…we know it’s not perfect BUT…) and the NONGS like these illegals who are soo self-righteous and ill-informed about their true purpose..that is to SERVE and not to be SERVED!!!!

And what’s with this POOH charter neways??? This was meant to be a stupid waste of time clean-up and now it’s becoming his Pooh charter first.

Can someone just land a pooh on this man’s pooh-face!!!! he disgusts me!

@AK & JW – Perhaps one of the biggest problems we face is that no single leader or party has really been able to articulate and connect the raw emotions of the “silent majority.”

We (no matter what race) are not apathetic, we are lost and we do not seem to be able to find a leader or a group of people who do not have entrenched interests and only use the name of the people to leverage their disparate agendas.

Its a pity that the likes of Shamima Ali and her very able Second In Command, Edwina Kotoisua, Wadan Narsey and the like are not forming a coalition of voices to speak together.

In some small way I live in the hope that forums like this will serve to very clearly express some of the things we want for our country.

@ IB – too true! Another great pity is that so many of our intelligent potential leaders like Imrana Jalal are absorbed into bodies like the UN where they cannot speak out but must remain neutral.
I’m sure the UN gravy train is a good thing for us as a nation, but really at a time like this we could do with our own leaders, not UN-neutered silenced voices.
    God bless Fiji

If this idiot pig could carry out a very serious crime such as a coup with such impunity, disregard for the law and callousness, what guarantee is there that he will not repeat his vile actions. So whats with the charter that it has to be part of his negotiated handover to civilian rule. How is it going to cure the coup disease. It is becoming obvious that it is his deal for a getaway from the impending justice that will befall him if he is not covered by some sort of insurance. The second tier of his strategy is to prolong his hold onto power so that he hopes that things will quieten down and recognition and a perceived acceptance of the regime can be derived through acquisence. This unfortunately for him and fortunately for us is not happening and this is where we should concentrate and continue on our own strategy in getting this repressive regime out of our lives.

He talks about serving justice to the people of Fiji. It really boggles the mind to hear it coming from someone who is supposed to put up for justice first and foremost. This nurd is living in total denial and refuses to see that he is the perpetrator of the crime and that he needs to put up for justice.

Most of us can see that the root cause of coups lies with the military so it makes sense to cut down on its size if we want to avoid future coups. A large army and a rouge leader is a perfect cocktail for propensity to coup mongering.

Only the reduction of the military and apprpriate punishment on perpetrators would alleviate the coup culture. This unfortunately is not happening as the pig is consolidating his power base and recruiting a whole lot of new coupsters.

Blah blah blah Voreqe acts as if he is the leader of Fiji. We do this, We do that. Fiji will not be intimidated. Fact of the matter he as no mandate to be speaking for Fiji so should get lost or accept that no one needs to listen to his diarrhea speeches.
